Day 1 - Seattle & Port Angeles

Seattle

After a day of air travel, we were able to board a ferry to Bainbridge Island, WA. Stepping on to a Washing State Ferry is like stepping back in time. These ferries have been operating since 1951 and transport more than 24 million passengers every year. We drove our car on board and got out during the 30 minute crossing and were able to enjoy the cool breeze from the water and take a few photos as we left Seattle. I definitely recommend this over driving south to Tacoma and back up north if you are planning to visit the northern part of the Olympic Peninsula.

Port Angeles

Once we got settled in our AirBnB in Port Angeles (I would highly recommend Matt’s home), I launched our drone to take a few quick photos. These take in the Olympic Mountains, specifically Hurricane Ridge to the south, then looking west at sunset, and lastly north at the protected ship mooring in Port Angeles. Unfortunately, these were the only drone photos I managed to take the entire trip with my Mavic Pro.
