Juice Detox Day 8 + Tips

I didn't get a blog posted yesterday, but I'm back again today. Day 8 went well and I'm into Day 9. The thoughts in my head right now are crazy! I'm actually thinking about incorporating juice or veggies only as a certain percentage of my meals each week. More on that another time. As I've said a few times, my assumptions about how I would feel on this vegan diet have been proven wrong. I've felt better, had more energy and more even energy throughout this "reset" diet period. Everyone seems interested in the energy, but they quickly say they wouldn't try something like this because of the taste and/or the time it takes to wash the food before you juice or blend it. I want to share some tips that might help you get over those issues.

Let's tackle breakfast first. This is the meal that most people skip anyways because they are in a rush or are too tired to make something. That's where Naked comes in. Naked makes all natural fruit and veggie juices that are bottled for your convenience. They do offer a few varieties that have some type of dairy or processed proteins, but their other flavors are certified vegan and have no added sugar or preservatives and are non-GMO, and gluten free. They are about $3 a bottle. My favorite is the Mango, but the Blue Machine and Red Machine flavors are great as well. This is a great substitute for your Starbucks fare or what you usually get in the drive thru at your go-to fast food stop in the morning.

Now lunch and dinner: it probably takes me 10-15 minutes to make 20oz of juice. That includes washing, juicing, and cleanup. Maybe you can cook a meal in less than that amount of time if you bought it in a box or a bag at the grocery store. If you need to juice really quick and don't have time, try the Original Superfood made by Odwalla. This stuff tastes great and is again all natural. I found it in the produce section of Reasor's. If you don't have a juicer, or want to try it for a few days before you make the commitment to buy a juicer, this would be the way to go. It would also be great to stick in the cooler at work. Again, it's all natural and great for you.
